1. Initial Condition
These chairs had been outdoors for an extended period. Exposure to sunlight and rain had faded the wood to a grayish tone, and dirt had built up deep in the grain. The surface felt dry and slightly rough.
Main issues:
• Faded, weathered wood color
• Deep outdoor grime
• Loss of protective coating
2. Restoration Process
Step 1 — Power Washing
We began with professional high-pressure power washing to remove dust, dirt, old finish residues, and buildup embedded in the wood grain. This step quickly and effectively cleaned the surface without damaging the wood.
Step 2 — Drying
After washing, we allowed the chairs to fully dry to ensure no moisture remained before further treatment. Proper drying is essential for achieving a strong bond with the finish.
Step 3 — Sanding
We carefully sanded each chair to smooth the surface, remove rough patches, and open the wood grain for better paint or oil absorption.
Step 4 — Painting
As a final step, we applied a rich, protective finish that restored the chairs’ deep warm tone. This coating not only enhances the natural beauty of the wood but also shields it from moisture, UV rays, and dirt.
