Step 1: Cleaning and Preparation

The existing tile in front of the fireplace had seen better days. It was worn, darkened by soot, and stained from years of use. We began the restoration by thoroughly cleaning the surface, removing dust, old wax, and grime with a specialized cleaner and a metal brush. This step was essential to ensure good paint adhesion and a long-lasting finish.

Step 2: Painting the Tile

After taping off the surrounding areas, we applied two coats of heat-resistant paint in a vibrant green shade. The chosen color provided a beautiful contrast to the white fireplace tiles and complemented the warm tones of the new laminate flooring. The result was a bold yet tasteful focal point in the room.

Step 3: Installing Decorative Wood Trim

To complete the transformation and create a polished edge between the tile and the laminate, we added decorative wood trim. These moldings were carefully cut, sanded, and installed to match the existing floor. In addition to their visual appeal, the trim also protects the tile edges from chipping and adds a touch of craftsmanship to the entire installation.

Final Result

The restored fireplace tile now looks revitalized and cohesive with the updated flooring. This project is a great example of how simple, cost-effective updates can dramatically improve the look and feel of a space while preserving its original charm.
